Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- Outgoing Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has congratulated newly elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Yunus congratulated the BNP chairman after he was sworn in as the country's 11th prime minister on Tuesday.
In a significant break from tradition, the swearing-in ceremony took place at the South Plaza of parliament, instead of the Bangabhaban.
The ceremony opened with the national anthem, followed by a Quran recitation.
Tarique then took the oath for the Prime Minister's Office and the confidentiality pledge from President Mohammed Shahabuddin, signing both to complete the process.
The president then administered the oath of office and the confidentiality pledge to the newly appointed ministers.
