Bangladesh, Sept. 25 -- Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The two leaders discussed Bangladesh's upcoming general elections, trade and investment, and the reform efforts undertaken by the interim government at the UN headquarters on Wednesday, according to state-run news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).

Yunus expressed deep grief and condolences over the loss of more than 1,000 lives in the recent floods in Pakistan.

In response, Shehbaz said the number and intensity of such disasters are rising due to the increasing impact of climate change.
