Dhaka, Nov. 1 -- Garment factory workers are blocking the highway in Gazipur once more to demand a minimum wage of Tk 30,000.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway to due to the protests.

Workers carrying sticks and other makeshift weapons took up positions on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway at Safipur in Kaliakoir around 8:30am on Sunday, said Kaliakoir Police Station chief Shahidul Islam.

Eight to 10 factories in the area have declared holidays amid the protest.
