Dhaka, March 26 -- Detectives have taken into custody a woman and her three children who chanted the slogan "Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu" while paying tributes at the National Memorial in Savar.
The woman said she went there to pay homage to the Liberation War martyrs on behalf of the banned Awami League and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Independence Day on Thursday.
They were taken into custody from in front of the memorial fountain around 11:30am, said Dhaka District North Detective Branch chief (OC) Saidul Islam.
The woman has been identified as Tahmina Akter, originally from Cumilla, who now resides in the capital's Lalbagh. She was employed in a public hospital.
