Dhaka, March 4 -- US President Donald Trump has hit out at Spain after the country refused to allow military bases jointly operated by the United States and Spain to be used for attacks on Iran.

The spat surfaced on Monday, when Spain's Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said the country's bases were "not being used for this operation" and would not be used "for anything not included in the agreement with the United States, or . not in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations".

According to Al Jazeera, Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez had earlier condemned the initial attacks as a breach of international law.
