Bangladesh, Aug. 22 -- Veteran journalist Bibhuranjan Sarkar has gone missing in Dhaka, prompting his family to file a general diary (GD) filed with Ramna Police Station.

The 71-year-old works at Ajker Patrika and regularly contributes opinion columns to several outlets, including bdnews24.com.

Bibhuranjan left his home in Siddheshwari on Thursday morning but has not been seen since, according to his family.

His son Rit Sarkar filed the GD after he failed to return home. The family said he left without his mobile phone.

In the GD, he said his father had left their Siddheshwari home at around 10am on Thursday as usual to go to his office. But he never came back.
