Bangladesh, Aug. 14 -- The verdict in the illicit asset acquisition case against expelled Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon is scheduled for Thursday.
Judge Abu Taher of Dhaka's Third Special Judge's Court will announce the verdict.
According to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) counsel Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed the verdict date and said he is hopeful the couple will receive the maximum sentence.
The verdict was initially scheduled for Aug 7.
On that day, Jahangir presented his arguments on behalf of the anti-graft watchdog and requested the highest possible penalty for the suspects.
