Dhaka, Feb. 27 -- Vegetable prices, which had surged at the start of Ramadan, have begun to ease slightly, though the meat market remains unchanged.
Visits to kitchen markets in Jatrabari, Shonir Akhra, Motijheel and Segunbagicha in the capital show that prices of cucumber, round and long aubergines, carrot, lemon, tomato and green chilli have fallen compared to last week.
Potato, hyacinth bean, cauliflower, radish, turnip, green peas, bitter gourd and papaya are being sold at previous rates.
At Segunbagicha kitchen market, long aubergines are now selling at Tk 70-80 per kg. At the start of Ramadan, they were sold at Tk 110-120 per kg.
