Dhaka, June 26 -- US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor has congratulated Dinesh Trivedi on formally assuming office as the India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh.

In his official X handle on Thursday, Gor wrote: "Wishing High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi all the very best as he assumes his important role as India's new high commissioner to Bangladesh.

"As the US special envoy for South and Central Asia, I look forward to working closely with him."

Trivedi began his Dhaka assignment by presenting his credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin at the Bangabhaban earlier in the day.
