Uranium finally lands in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Oct. 3 -- The delayed uranium shipment meant for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has arrived in Bangladesh.
The shipment, which is to be used to refuel the first unit of Bangladesh's only nuclear power plant, was meant to arrive on Sept 24. It was held up as Pakistan refused to grant permission to use its airspace for the flight.
Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) Chairman Mahmudul Hasan said that a special cargo flight carrying uranium for the Rooppur project landed in Dhaka around 11:45pm on Friday.
