Bangladesh, May 22 -- Police in Chattogram have detained two security guards over separate allegations of attempted rape of two children in different place of the port city.

The incidents reportedly occurred on Friday afternoon in Agrabad Hajipara under Double Mooring Police Station and Mandatila under Bayezid Bostami Police Station.

The allegations come a day after "vigilante violence" in Bakalia over the "rape" of another child amid a wave of similar sexual violence cases reported across the country.

The detainees have been identified as 45-year-old Md Ehsan and 40-year-old Md Hasan.

Both the children have been admitted to the one-stop crisis centre (OCC) at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, police said.
