Dhaka, June 16 -- While conducting a raid to arrest suspects in the robbery of a bKash agent in Dhaka's Adabor, two police officers have been injured in a machete attack.

Two suspected criminals were also injured after police opened fire during the operation.

Fazlur Rahman, assistant deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Tejgaon Division, said a police team came under attack near Dhaka Udyan on Tuesday afternoon while trying to arrest suspects in the case.

Adabor Police chief Zahidul Islam and Sub-Inspector Tarun, identified by a single name, were injured in the attack by assailants armed with machetes.

Four suspects were detained at the scene, known only as Rubel, Kashem, Amir, and Joy.
