Dhaka, April 24 -- A Dhaka court has granted police a further four days to interrogate Chan Mia and Mohidul Islam -- the driver and caretaker, respectively, of Tarique Ahmed Siddique, the military adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Metropolitan Magistrate Al Biruni Meer passed the order on Friday after the investigators produced the duo in court following their initial four-day stint in police custody.
The suspects were arrested on Apr 19 -- Mohidul in Thakurgaon and Chan Mia in Dhaka's Vashantek. They were first remanded on Apr 20.
Inspector Md Amjad Hossain Talukder of the DMP's Detective Branch (DB), who is investigating the case, sought a fresh seven-day remand.
