Dhaka, Feb. 10 -- A rice trader has been hacked to death inside his shop in Mymensingh's Trishal. The killers left the victim inside the shop and closed the shutters before fleeing.

The murder took place around 11pm on Monday at the Bogar Bazar intersection in the Upazila, said Trishal Police Station chief (OC) Muhammad Firoz Hossain.

The dead, 62-year-old Susen Chandra Sarkar, was the owner of "Bhai Bhai Enterprise" at the intersection and a resident of Southkanda village.

OC Firoz said unknown assailants hacked him with a sharp weapon, left him inside the shop, and closed the shutters. Susen's family was searching for him, opened the shutters to the shop, and found him covered in blood.
