Dhaka, Aug. 10 -- A cash haul worth Tk 12.13 million has allegedly been snatched from a Dhaka petrol pump while it was being taken to a bank for deposit.

The incident occurred around 10:30am on Sunday in front of Crown Plaza on the Airport Road, said Tariq Ahmed, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Uttara Division.

The DL Filling Station is owned by Tasin Akhtar Haque, a cousin of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

His late mother Khurshid Jahan Haque was former prime minister Khaleda Zia's elder sister.

Khurshid was involved in BNP politics and served as a reserved-seat MP from 1991 to 1996.

She later represented Dinajpur-1 from 1996 to 2001 and 2002 to 2006.
