Dhaka, May 10 -- A court in Mymensingh has sentenced three brothers to life imprisonment for the killing of a man in Gafargaon in 2008.

Mymensingh Additional District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Farzana Ahmed delivered the verdict on Sunday afternoon.

The convicts are Shahbaz Mia, 58, Rafiqul Islam, 53, and another known only as Hanifa, 50 -- all sons of Gias Uddin.

The court also fined each of them Tk 30,000, with an additional six months in jail in default of payment.

Bench assistant Abdul Malek said six suspects were produced in court during the verdict.

Three were acquitted while the remaining three received life sentences.
