Dhaka, Jan. 4 -- Student protesters of Tejgaon College who blocked the road in the Farmgate area protesting the death of a fellow peer following a clash between two groups at the college hostel, have left after almost four hours.

Traffic movement resumed after 2:00pm on Sunday when the students withdrew from the road, said Kyashainu Marma, chief of Tejgaon Police Station.

Earlier, the students took to the streets around 10:15am on Sunday, bringing traffic to a halt on one of the capital's major thoroughfares.

Due to the road blockade, severe traffic congestion developed in Tejgaon, Karwan Bazar, and surrounding areas.
