Dhaka, March 8 -- Police have recovered the body of a 15-year-old domestic worker who died after falling from the roof of a residential building in the capital's Banani.

Banani Police Inspector Mehedi Hasan said they recovered the body around 3pm on Sunday.

The victim, identified only as Pinky, was a native of Sunamganj.

She had been working at an apartment on the second floor of a nine-storey building at a house in block D.

"It is not possible to jump from the second-floor balcony; she fell from the roof," he said.

"We are still investigating whether she jumped or was pushed."

The apartment where the girl worked is owned by Rakibul Hasan, who lives there with his wife and two children.
