Dhaka, Feb. 13 -- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has won the Dhaka-17 constituency by a margin of 4,399 votes.

Tarique secured 72,699 votes, according to results signed by the returning officer early Friday.

His closest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami's SM Khaliduzzaman, received 68,300.

The constituency has 333,813 registered voters, with turnout recorded at 44.3 percent.

Earlier, Tarique won Bogura-6 (Sadar) by a landslide, securing 216,284 votes against Jamaat's Abidur Rahman Sohel, who polled 97,626.

The margin of victory there was 118,658 votes.
