Dhaka, May 16 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left for Chandpur to lead a series of development and political events in the district.

His motorcade rolled out of his Gulshan residence at 8:45am on Saturday, Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Ruman said.

"The prime minister has left his residence and is currently in the car."

He added that before entering Chandpur, Tarique will address a public meeting at 11:30am at Laxmipur Bazar field in Cumilla's Burichang Upazila.

The premier's itinerary includes the inauguration of the "Khordda Canal" re-excavation in Shahrasti Upazila's Tamta South Union at 12:30pm.

Later, at 1:45pm, he will launch another re-excavation project at "Bishwa Canal" near Ghosher Haat in the Sadar Upazila....
