Dhaka, Oct. 2 -- Bangladesh survived a spectacular collapse to beat Afghanistan by 4 wickets in their T20 opener in Sharjah, after half-centuries from Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon had set up the chase.
Set 152 to win, the openers dominated with a blistering stand of 109 runs, putting the Afghan bowlers under pressure at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
But what looked like a cruise turned into chaos as 6 wickets tumbled for just 9 runs, reducing Bangladesh to 118 for 6.
Nurul Hasan and Rishad Hossain then steadied nerves before unleashing a late surge. With 21 runs hammered in just 5 balls, the pair carried Bangladesh over the line with 10 balls to spare.
