Dhaka, June 7 -- Former captain Tamim Iqbal has secured a commanding mandate in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election, winning 73 of 74 votes in Category 2 -- the highest among all candidates.

Following the result, he was elected unopposed as BCB president, becoming the 21st chief of the board.

Fahim Sinha was also elected vice-president unopposed.
