Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- Tajbir Hasan, an associate of fugitive money laundering suspect Proshanta Kumar Halder, has been sent to jail following his arrest at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport.

He was produced before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rakibul Hasan on Saturday afternoon, a day after being detained by airport intelligence officials late Friday night.

Airport Police Station's investigating officer sought a seven-day custody order to quiz him, but the court ordered him into jail and set Oct 14 for the remand hearing, according to Public Prosecutor Kaiyum Hossain Nayan.

Tajbir, 35, is the managing director of Haltrip, a travel agency that vanished in 2020 after reportedly taking over more than Tk 1 billion from customers.
