Dhaka, Oct. 31 -- Police have shown Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dwip, a "friend-like younger brother" of former Bangladesh Air Force officer Tahsif Souri, as arrested in the murder case over his death.

He will be sent to court on Saturday, according to Mahfuzur Rahman, additional superintendent of River Police's Dhaka region.

The officer said Tahsif's father filed the case at night and police showed Dwip arrested straight after.

The father KM Enayetul Karim had voiced "reluctance" to pursue a case since the incident.

Three days on, late on Friday, he lodged a complaint at Uttarkhan Police Station alleging his son was murdered.
