Dhaka, March 28 -- Amid persistent pressure at filling stations, the government has moved to tighten fuel management, deciding to appoint tag officers to oversee sales, monitor stock, and submit daily reports nationwide.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Saturday said the decision came at an online meeting chaired by Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
The move aims to supervise the country's fuel management operations amid ongoing global uncertainties.
Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) will appoint tag officers in Dhaka and Chattogram cities.
