Dhaka, Dec. 30 -- Two children left by the road near Chattogram's Anwara have been rescued.

An auto-rickshaw driver found them shivering in the cold on Sunday evening amid the worst cold spell this winter.

The elder child is a 3.5-year-old girl, who identified herself only as Ayesha. She said the 14-month-old boy she was holding was her brother - Morshed.

The children have been with the auto-rickshaw driver Mohim Uddin since their rescue. The local administration returned the children to Mohim after giving them first aid on Monday.

"The girl is somewhat healthy. The boy was perhaps born with some health issues. He also has a scar from an old infection on his back," said Tahmina Aktar, Anwara Upazila administrator.
