Dhaka, June 19 -- State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam has called for stronger international action to protect civilians, uphold international humanitarian law and sustain support for the repatriation of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar.

She made the call at a high-level panel of the 2026 Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Humanitarian Affairs Segment at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Thursday, according to a media statement issued by the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York.
