Dhaka, April 10 -- Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad has instructed a Jamaat-e-Islami MP to be "more attentive" for reportedly raising a different topic during the legislative process in parliament as "such acts hamper the activities regarding the bills".
Md Saiful Alam was warned in the morning session on Friday, soon after the Deposit Protection Bill, 2026 was tabled.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury placed the bill to repeal the Bank Deposit Insurance Act, 2000 upon the speaker's go-ahead.
Hafiz immediately asked him to move a motion for the immediate consideration of the bill as proposed.
