Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- The Chamber Court has stayed the bail granted by the High Court to Mahmudul Hasan Mohin, a "Jubo Dal leader" and the prime suspect in the murder case of scrap metal dealer Lal Chand, also known as Sohag, who was beaten to death with concrete blocks in broad daylight in Dhaka's Mitford area.

Chamber Judge Justice Md Rezaul Haque passed the order on Sunday after hearing a state petition challenging the High Court's bail order.

On Sept 28, a High Court bench comprising Justice Md Ruhul Quddus and Justice Syed Hasan Zobair granted Mohin six months' interim bail.

The court also issued a rule asking why he should not be granted permanent bail.
