Shadik lost the moral standing to remain DUCSU VP after switching to Jamaat: BNP's Rashed
Bangladesh, July 16 -- BNP leader Rashed Khan has said Shadik Kayem is no longer fit to hold the post of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) vice-president after joining Jamaat-e-Islami's politics.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Rashed said Islami Chhatra Shibir had pushed for a ban on campus student politics as part of the 2024 July movement's nine-point charter, a demand Anti-discrimination Student Movement leader Abdul Kader rejected.
A clause banning "subservient" politics was added instead, after talks between the two sides, he added.
