Dhaka, April 14 -- Seven people have been killed and six others injured after a truck loaded with food grain veered off and plunged into a roadside ditch in Cumilla's Daudkandi.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning near Hasanpur along the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, according to Daudkandi Highway Police Station chief Md Iqbal Bahar Majumdar.
The dead have been identified as Mohammad Afzal Hossain, 35, Sohrab Hossain, 40, Salek, 45, Sumon, 21, Bishu, 35, Abu Hossain, 30, and Abdur Rashid, 55.
Officer Iqbal said a rice-laden truck travelling from Dinajpur to Chattogram lost control and fell off the road. At the time, 13 people were on top of the truck and came under it after the crash, leaving seven dead and six injured.
