Bangladesh, Aug. 6 -- More than 50 people, including students of a private university, have been injured in two separate road accidents in Chattogram's Patiya Upazila.

The accidents occurred on Wednesday along the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway, one near the Shantirhat area and the other on the Patiya bypass, according to police.

Witnesses said that one of the buses involved in the crash near the bypass was carrying students of BGC Trust University, while the other, involved in the Shantirhat accident, was transporting passengers to Patiya.

Several people were injured when the bus transporting BGC Trust University students collided head-on with another bus in the bypass area, said Inspector Jasim Uddin of the Patiya Highway Police.
