Dhaka, March 8 -- A teenage boy has died and five others have been injured after an under-construction wall of a shop collapsed in Lakshmipur's Ramganj Upazila.

The incident occurred on Sunday as the wall of a shop under construction collapsed at the intersection in the Upazila town, said Ramganj Police chief Md Firoz Uddin Chowdhury.

The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Fahad Hossain, an SSC candidate at Nichahara Shamaj Kallyan High School.

CCTV footage shows the wall on the roof of the shop collapsed, burying Fahad and his mother as they were standing nearby.

They were rescued by locals and taken to the Upazila health complex, where doctors declared Fahad dead.
