Dhaka, March 18 -- A week-long public holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr has triggered a massive rush of tourists to the Chattorgram Hill Tracts, with resorts in Sajek Valley and Rangamati town reporting full bookings.
All 111 resorts and cottages in Sajek Valley are 100 percent booked from Mar 22 to 28, according to the Sajek Resort and Cottage Owners' Association.
"Bookings began five days ago," said Supan Deb Barman, president of the association.
"We have reached full capacity for the 22nd to 27th of March period. We cannot provide rooms even if requested; there is simply no vacancy left," he added.
The surge is not limited to Sajek.
