Bangladesh, Aug. 27 -- Authorities have rescheduled the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU) elections, moving the vote to Sept 28.
Chief Election Commissioner Prof F Nazrul Islam said the election, initially scheduled for Sept 15, had to be postponed due to the replacement of the election chief, demands over polling centre relocations, security concerns and time required for candidate dope tests.
"We did not make this decision under pressure from any group. The election commission reached this decision in a meeting," he told reporters on Wednesday.
Voting will be held in all academic buildings on Sept 28, and the results will be announced the same day.
