Bangladesh, Sept. 11 -- Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has met with Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain.

A press statement from the Ministry of Religious Affairs said the meeting took place at the prime minister's house in Islamabad on Thursday morning.

Sharif welcomed the delegation and described the relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh as rooted in history, culture and friendship, adding that the ties "will further strengthen in the coming days", according to the statement.

It also added that Sharif referred to his recent meetings with Bangladesh's chief advisor in New York and Cairo.
