Dhaka, April 11 -- Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has been airlifted to Dhaka after suddenly falling ill at Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari.

He was subsequently admitted to a private hospital in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

AKM Bahauddin Zakaria, manager of Saidpur Airport, confirmed that the air ambulance carrying the minister departed for Dhaka at 3:20pm.

The minister's condition or the nature of his illness could not be immediately confirmed.

Abdur Gafur Sarkar, president of the Saidpur unit of the BNP, said the minister arrived at the airport from Dhaka on a US-Bangla Airlines flight around 8:15am for a two-day visit to Lalmonirhat.
