Bangladesh, July 23 -- Under the influence of an active monsoon, Dhaka has recorded 40mm of rainfall over the past 30 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The Met Office logged 30mm of rainfall between 6am on Wednesday and 6am on Thursday, followed by another 10mm between 6am and noon on Thursday.

The capital has been experiencing intermittent rainfall over the past several days.

The BMD has forecast varying degrees of rain across all divisions, including Dhaka, over the next few days.

"It's the monsoon season, so there will be spells of rain with breaks in between," meteorologist Md Abdul Hamid Mia told bdnews24.com on Thursday.
