Dhaka, April 25 -- Local politicians have issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the removal of the principal and a female teacher of Daokandi Government College in Durgapur, who were attacked on campus after reportedly refusing to pay extortion money.
The ultimatum was given during a press conference at a restaurant in the city's Shaheb Bazar Zero Point on Saturday afternoon.
Attendees included Tafsirul Quran Mahfil President Abdus Samad, expelled local BNP leader Akbar Ali, and other local figures.
The speakers threatened a mass movement if Principal Abdur Razzaque and teacher Aleya Khatun Heera are not removed within the deadline.
