Dhaka, Oct. 11 -- Political parties are now scheduled to sign the July Charter, also known as the National Charter, on Oct 17, two days later than initially planned.

The Chief Advisor's Office announced the revised date in a statement on Saturday, citing the need to hold the event on a weekend to ensure broader public participation.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Consensus Commission presided over by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, held at the State Guest House Jamuna.

After the discussion, commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz said the ceremony will be held on Friday afternoon at the South Plaza of the parliament.
