Dhaka, June 30 -- A political government is not solely responsible for corruption as it is also the "permanent part" of the state, Prime Minister's Information Advisor Zahed Ur Rahman has said.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday, he said the employees of the republic are also to blame for corruption.

Zahed said, "The government wants all allegations of corruption, past and present, to be equally investigated."

According to Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), corruption in the service sector during Muhammad Yunus-led interim government involved more than Tk 120 billion.

The advisor was questioned about the government's measures regarding the finding.
