Bangladesh, Aug. 12 -- A policeman has been attacked and injured during a raid in Chattogram after a flash procession by the Awami League was reported in the port city.

The incident occurred in the Ishan Mistry Jetty area on Monday night.

The injured officer has been identified as Sub-Inspector Abu Sayeed Rana, who is assigned to the Port Police Station.

Deputy Commissioner (Port) Amirul Islam said that an Awami League procession was held in the Ishan Mistry Jetty area at night. Upon receiving this information, members of the Port Police Station went to the spot and conducted a raid.
