Dhaka, March 28 -- Police personnel are not satisfied with their current uniform, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said, indicating that the government is considering a return to traditional attire.

The minister made the remarks on Saturday during the passing-out parade of the 43rd BCS (police) cadre's probationary assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi's Sardah.

"Force members are not satisfied with the current police uniform," the home minister said.

"Discussions are currently held at the highest levels of government about a return to one of the force's traditional old uniforms. A decision on this will be reached soon."
