Dhaka, Feb. 4 -- Police have secured permission to interrogate Belayet Hossain and Tofayel Hossain Topu, arrested on suspicion of terrorism in Savar and Keraniganj.

On Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam placed the duo on a four-day police custody.

The investigating officer of the case, Inspector SM Mizanur Rahman of the DMP's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, produced them in court and sought seven days to interrogate them in custody.

CTTC officers arrested Ahsan Zahir Khan, 50, in Dhaka's Zia Udyan Lake on Saturday.

Police claim he is an Ehsa member of the banned militant organisation Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
