Bangladesh, Sept. 5 -- Police have identified the man whose body was found with his mouth taped on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway.

The dead was 50-year-old Ismail Hossain of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. He lived in Gazipur's Konabari.

Banani Police Station Sub-Inspector Nazrul Islam Talukdar said Ismail was identified by matching his fingerprints with the National Identity Card database.

"We have informed his family. We have learnt that they have gone to Dhaka Medical College Hospital," SI Nazrul said.

Asked about Ismail's occupation, the police officer said they had not yet been able to confirm it as they had not spoken to his family members about the matter.
