Dhaka, May 8 -- Police have submitted a final report to the court on the death of Sornomoye Biswas, a graphic designer at the newly-launched online news portal Dhaka Stream, concluding that she took her own life due to grievances with her family.

The final report was submitted after an investigation that lasted nearly six months, probing allegations of workplace harassment that the suicide had brought to the surface, sparking social media furore.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Saiful Islam of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, the investigating officer, said a suicide note recovered from the scene provided a clear motive.
