PMO spokesperson says fuel prices increased 'slightly'
Dhaka, June 1 -- Despite the government increasing fuel prices twice in a span of one and a half months, the rates remain at a "limited" level, according to Prime Minister's Office (PMO) spokesperson Mahdi Amin.
Addressing a press conference at the PMO in Tejgaon on Monday, he also highlighted the instructions given by the premier during the Eid-ul-Azha.
The government raised the retail prices of octane, petrol and kerosene by Tk 5 per litre for June, while leaving diesel prices unchanged.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued a notification on Sunday setting the new rates, which took effect on Monday.
Under the revised pricing structure, diesel will remain at Tk 115 per litre, while kerosene rose to Tk 135, octane to Tk 14...
