Dhaka, May 4 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has held a meeting with the Ministry of Textiles and Jute to discuss ways to reopen closed mills and factories.
The meeting began at the Prime Minister's Office in the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday morning, Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh said.
"The prime minister is discussing how closed mills and factories can be reopened, their current condition and other related issues with the Ministry of Textiles and Jute," he said.
Saleh said the meeting followed Tarique's pledge at a May Day workers' rally in Naya Paltan to reopen closed factories and create employment opportunities for workers.
