Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left for Feni.

His motorcade departed from his residence in Dhaka's Gulshan at 8:36am on Thursday, according to his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

He said, "The honourable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is going to Feni. His motorcade has left his residence in Gulshan and is now crossing the capital."

"The prime minister will return to Dhaka in the evening after completing his scheduled day-long programme in Feni."

Tarique's maternal grandfather, Eskandar Majumdar, hailed from Majumdar Bari in Sripur village in Feni's Fulgazi Upazila.
