Dhaka, April 13 -- Platforms Gallery has hosted a Rickshaw Art Workshop to celebrate the iconic art tradition.
The session introduced the 18 participants from diverse backgrounds to traditional techniques and storytelling through hands-on practice "inspired by the spirit" of the Bengali New Year, the gallery in Dhaka's Gulshan 2 said in a press release.
Each participant created two artworks-a rickshaw-inspired canvas and a hand-painted pair of sunglasses - with support from contemporary artist Shakil Mridha and coordinator Sultan M Mineuddin.
"This initiative reflects Platforms Gallery's commitment to promoting Bangladeshi artistic heritage, with more such workshops planned in the future," the press release said.
